Travis Holmes

Travis Holmes got hooked on theater commonly enough in his high school days, finding that he preferred building sets and hanging lights to the boredom of sitting on benches and wondering if all that yelling that coach was doing was really fulfilling him as a human being.Ê An unfortunate side affect of this newfound love was a simultaneous development of hatred for musicals.Ê Since those formative days he has signed various peace accords with the Musical and has found it in his heart to forgive it for the creation of Guys and Dolls, 42nd Street, and Oklahoma in light of its other more worthy contributions.Ê Travis went on to study theater at the University of Texas where his repressed God complex manifested itself in the form of playwriting.Ê Just after college in 1999, with a desire to keep the writing up and also have a means to get it produced, he went on to help found Loaded Gun Theory with several friends who shared similar aspirations.Ê Since that time, he has known the joy of watching a number of his pieces, both large and small, make their way to the stage.Ê Travis has also been known to get himself onto a stage every now and then, and is mucho grateful to the Faction for giving him more opportunities to do so.Ê He lives in South Austin with his wife and dogs.
