Robert Matney
Robert studied Philosophy and English at The University of Texas where he discovered he was thrilled by the works of Shakespeare but not by the works of Kierkegaard. He participated in the Shakespeare at Winedale program and with the help of talented and generous people, fell well in love with performance and story telling. Since which time he co-founded the lively Austin Free Shakespeare Society in Austin, the short-lived Permanent Thisbe company in London, and has performed in and directed a number of productions in Austin. Currently he is a dramaturg and member of the Austin Shakespeare Festival and the Publicity Director for Bedlam. He earns his keep by doing voice over work and freelance IT consulting.
