Bedlam
Faction:
We Do It
for Love

Tis Pity Cast

John Botti (Music)
Johnbo, a Bedlam Faction Co-Artistic Director, has a love of music that spans the aeons and the planes, and he is happy to continue to have the opportunity to play and arrange music for theater. He has just started a production company, Zita Sound, with some of his ex-bandmates. He prefers peace, communication and cooperation in all things.

Robert Deike (Friar; Donado)
Robert D. Deike is one of the Co-Artistic Directors for the Bedlam Faction and one of its founding members. He sure does like to do plays, clocking in with over 45 productions under his belt. But fame is fleeting and memories short, especially his own, since he can't remember a single one of them. Advanced age has that effect. Hopefully he didn't embarrass himself or anything. Anyway, to conclude, please be good to one other, or the events in this play could happen to YOU. Remember, you've been warned.

Hildreth England (Annabella)
Hildreth's mom and dad think she's been typecast. she's here to prove them way right. as usual, she's so pumped to play that she's foaming at the mouth, and hopes to make it through this run in one hale and hearty piece. gushes of love to that crazy mom and dad, the bedlam family, and, of course, my ever-sane lenolas...

Carie Esquenazi (Putana)
Carie Esquenazi received a bachelor of science in theatre production and management from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. She made the move to Austin in 1998 and has since worked with such reputable companies as the Public Domain, Fabulous and Ridiculous Theatre, We Could Be Heroes Improvisation Group, Austin Script Works, Refraction Arts, Teatro Vivo and the iron belly muses. Carie would like to thank everyone in the Bedlam Faction for being so wonderful ; )

Travis Hale (Poggio; Vasques)
Travis, a founding Co-Artistic Director of the Bedlam Faction, was last seen in the Faction’s Reefer Madness (if you blinked, you may have missed him). He graduated with a degree in English from UT-Austin in 2001, and has performed in several plays around Austin and in England.

Matt Kozusko (Giovanni)
Matt Kozusko is a founding member of the Bedlam Faction. He was deeply, deeply unsettled by this play in graduate school and is now gleefully disturbed to be part of the cast. He is interested in performance as a means of exploring life, literature, and play, and is as delighted as ever to romp with the Faction on stage. Matt moves to Philadelphia in the fall to join the faculty of Ursinus College as an Assistant Professor of English. A hearty thanks to the usual suspects, and particularly his family, who are refreshingly sane.

Rob Matney (Soranzo)
Rob likes Austin. Rob fixes computers for a living and does plays at night. Rob wonders why he got a philosophy degree. He was a student in the Shakespeare at Winedale program, and co-founded The Austin Free Shakespeare Society, as well as the Bedlam Faction. In Austin he has had the pleasure to work with The Public Domain, iron belly muses, the Rude Mechanicals and the Austin Shakespeare Festival. He owes loving gratitude and sleep deprivation to his beloved Liz and his stinky puppy. In that order.

Shanna E. Smith (Floria; Hippolyta)
Shanna is a Co-Artistic Director of the Faction, and has played the roles of Celia in Volpone, Eugenia in The London Cuckolds, Julia in Romulus, and Mae in Reefer Madness. She has also performed in 15 other Shakespeare productions in and around Austin including those by Shakespeare at Winedale, The Boxtree Players, The Colonial Shakespeare Company, and The Austin Free Shakespeare Society. Shanna earned her Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Relationships in 2002, and now spends her days as a statistical and research consultant at the University of Texas.

Ben Wolfe (Bergetto; Cardinal)
Ben Wolfe is neither a Co-Artistic Director nor a founding member of the Bedlam Faction, but he loves you all anyway. He is, however, a company member with the Austin Shakespeare Festival for the 2002-2003 season. He’s recently been seen in productions of Twelfth Night (Sir Andrew Aguecheek) and The Merry Wives of Windsor (Pistol), and he will soon be seen in ASF’s production of Henry V.
